A few weeks ago I had the honor of documenting such a sweet wedding!! I still remember the first time I met Lisa and Joshua… and their 3 gorgeous children! I remember the kids were so sweet and so well-behaved!!! I always remember kids that listen to their parents… it must be the mommy in me! lol!  They had a super fun and super sweet engagement session a few months ago… so I knew I would love sharing a beautiful wedding day with this fabulous family!!!

Their wedding day was filled with so much love, so much joy, and even a couple of tears here and there.   The Lindley-Scott House was such a pretty setting for their beautiful day!  I personally thought that Lisa was just glowing with happiness – it was so amazing to witness the love that Lisa and Joshua have for each other!!! You guys are so amazing… thank you for allowing me to share this special day in your lives!

From the moment that I met Jacy and Carlos, I knew they were going to be fabulous.  I mean… they loved and appreciated photography, they were super sweet, and we just had such a wonderful connection.  When I shot their Santa Monica Pier Engagement Session a few months ago I just knew that their wedding was going to be a blast.  I knew at the engagement session that Jacy followed my blog… and was eager to get amazing images.  Of course, getting amazing images for these two is really not a difficult task – they’re such a beautiful couple, they’re happy, and they’re in love … I mean how much easier could it get for me?!?! LOL! So I had been looking forward to their wedding for some time :-)

I knew their wedding would be beautiful… they got married at the gorgeous  Kerckhoff Grand Salon in UCLA and  had their reception at the gorgeous Coffee House Patio.  I am thrilled to say, that their wedding was actually FABULOUS to the tenth degree!!!!!!!! Seriously.  F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S.  What made it so fabulous?  They did.  Jacy and Carlos.  I mean the venue was amazing, their decorations were beautiful, their carefully planned details were gorgeous … but what truly made this wedding fabulous was them and their fabulous personalities that just radiate happiness and love.  They knew they wanted amazing images and they truly trusted me.

Jacy and Carlos – you guys absolutely rock! you guys are simply fabulous. I am so honored to have been your wedding photographer and I’m honored just to have met you both!!!!! Thank you for sharing your special day with me and allowing me to capture it for you… and most of all, thank you for trusting me as much as you did!!!!!

Ok… So those handfull of people that follow my blog know that I’m alwasy posting tooo many images…. haha! I just have a hard time narrowing it down to my favorite images.  So I’m just going to warn you all that this is about to become one LONG post of images… I just couldn’t even decide! I so sowy… :-)

One of my favorite parts of this already fabulous event was their first dance… they started out with this fabulous and romantic dance….

Then they broke out their ‘moves’ and had a TON OF FUN dancing to a medley of funky songs!!! It was so amazing and so much fun. I had to keep reminding myself that I was there to shoot and document the dance… I was just on the ground laughing my butt off!!!! LOL!!! Seriously, I had such a hard time keeping my camera in focus while laughing!!! haha!!! LOVE IT!!!!

Several weeks ago I had a blast getting to know Nancy and Junior.  They’re such a sweet and kind couple… very laid back and super super cute! :-) … I know, I know… I say that about all my couples. But, hey, what can I do if I attract the sweetest and most fabulous couples! lol!

These two are sooo laid back and so easy going… I love that about them.  When I arrived at their engagement session in Laguna Beach, they had already spent quite some time with their videographer… so I was honestly a little nervous.  I was just really worried that they would be tired and ‘fed up’ of the camera by the time I got there… I was so pleasantly surprised that they are such great troopers!!! they didn’t even seem tired at all… they were smiling and as sweet as ever!

They have this sweet shy-ness about them that is just endearing.  But, as most of my couples, that quickly faded away as the sun started setting… check out their ultra steamy and fabulous sunset shots!!!  Maybe it was that sultry and romantic sunset, or the fact that it was getting dark, or that the beach wasn’t as crowded by thend – I don’t know what it was, but boy did things get nince and steamy by the end of our session!! haha!

Nancy was actually the bridesmaid at a wedding I did just last week! and she looked absolutely stunning as a bridesmaid… so I can only imagine how gorgeous she’ll  be as the bride!!!  Junior looked really handsome too! lol!  I’m soooo excited for their upcoming wedding!!!!

The wedding season is in full swing now… can you tell?!  I haven’t even had a chance to keep up with my posts (yeah…. I will shamelessly use the wedding season as my excuse for my lagging behind on my blog! LOL!).

So without further delay…. I had a faboulous time with Lisa and Joshua last Friday.  We went to Kimberly Crest in Redlands… and spent some time exploring the front part of the beautiful mansion’s gardens!  I LOVE this place. so gorgeous. no joke!

I met Lisa and Joshua last year, when we had our first consultation I knew Lisa and Joshua were in love with each other, and with their kids (absolutely beautiful family… let me tell you!!).  I truly love engagement sessions … they really let us get to know each other sooooo much! I know now that Joshua loves being silly and making Lisa laugh!!! LOVE Lisa’s smile!!!

You guys truly rocked it!!!! I can’t wait to capture the magic on your wedding day!!!

Friday felt just like Christmas to me…. I came home to find a bunch of neatly arranged boxes outside my front door! (you gotta admit we all love to get visits from UPS or FedEx … even if they were all things that we purchased ourselves, so technically they are not ‘gifts’… but it’s awesome to finally receive what you ordered online!).  Have you ever waited for something so anxiously that once the delivery guy/gal comes by to drop it off, you just want to jump up and down, give them a big hug, a big kiss, and a big cookie!!! That was me on Friday :-)

Well… among the packages that were delivered to my front door on Friday, was my bran-spankn’ new totally fab new lens: the Canon 50mm 1.2!!!! This deserved a happy dance with an extra dose of happy!!!! LOL!!!!  I have been soooo excited about this lens… I couldn’t wait to see the buttery goodness that makes this lens ‘oh so absolutely fab’ -  and to make things even more fun, I got it just in time for my Saturday wedding!

So I know I don’t usually post sneak-peaks… but why not start now? Right? So here’s a little sneak peak of the buttery goodness that IS the 50 1.2! J

This lens definitely deserves a ‘woop-wooop… OH SO FAB!!!’

Jill… your wedding rocked, and you looked amazing (wind and all!!! LOL!!!).  I’ll make sure to blog the rest of the wedding in a few weeks too. (check out that buttery background…. LOVE my new lens!!!)

Back in November I had the honor of photographing Tom and May’s wedding, and I kept meaning to blog it (but we all know how I am with this whole blogging thing! LOL!).  I definitely don’t want to put it off any longer.  I absolutely LOVED working with Tom and May – seriously one of my favorite couples EVER!!!  I did their engagement session back a few months ago (remember their amazing smiles!?!? – Click here to refresh your memory).  I knew then that they would be awesome on their wedding day!  They are so fun, so happy, so in love – and best of all: they put their complete trust in me!! Seriously … that is one of the key ingredients to amazing wedding photography – absolutely trust your wedding photographer.  Afterall, you did hire them for a reason… so trust in their creativity and in their talent!

Tom and May had an absolutely amazing wedding… the ceremony was beautiful (of course :-) … but their reception was absolutely STUNNING!  They chose to have their reception at The Vineyards in Simi Valley - which has amazing views!!!  Tom and May did a fantastic job with the receptin decor… absolutely stunning – from the lighting to the linens… everything was stunning!!

We took SOOO many pictures of the beautiful couple at The Vineyards! I have never had so many bride and groom portraits to go through!  It took me hours to narrow it down to my favorite 100!!!  – which reminds me… the more time you have for your bride and groom pictures… the better!  We had close to an hour alone with Tom and May.  I realize that this can be difficult (if not nearly impossible) to accomodate in some cases… but if you can have more than 20 minutes of you guys by your selves… you will have amazing images to treasure for a lifetime!!!

At weddings, having Ana around is great because we can save time and be more efficient with our time frames.  Usually during the formals Ana will take the guys (groom and groomsmen) while I take the girls (bride and bridesmaids), so that we can move along and get the bridal party off to the party ASAP.  She’ll also take different angles than me (even when we’re shooting the same pose) – which always brings wonderful surprises when I go into her images!!  It’s always great to offer a bride a new angle that she wasn’t expecting.  During the ceremony, you’ll find her in the front of the ceremony – capturing those candid emotional moments between the bride and groom; and during the reception you’ll find her by the dance floor, capturing the fun of the evening with the tripod.

Ana is my main 2nd photographer.  She is my right hand at most weddings.  Ana has been with Studio Eternity from the very first day.  Actually, Ana helped start the company with me.  We have known each other since 7th grade, and have been really good friends since high school!  Ana and I always knew we would do something together… we always knew we were meant to work together.  We both went to FIDM (she went as a Visual Designer, I went as a Fashion Designer – yes… I have a degree in Fashion Design as well).  So after FIDM we always thought we would open a boutique or start a fashion line or something of the sort, but I personally realized the fashion industry wasn’t for me.  I love the design aspect of it, but I was not a fan of the ‘industry’ and the personality you have to have to succeed in that world (those that know me, know I am definitely not ‘cut-throat’ or overly aggressive).  So I knew that wasn’t the field for me, therefore our boutique idea went up in the air.  When I was planning my own wedding, Ana and I thought we should start a wedding planning business, but that never really went anywhere (I’m not really sure why we never did).  So one day I approached her about the photography studio, and she was all in with me!  She has been my 2nd photographer since then.  She goes to most of the weddings I do (there have been a couple where she’s not available, but she’s there at most of them).

Ana’s background in visual design has always been a great fit for wedding photography.  She has a great eye for detail!  It is this visual design background and attention to detail that brides always tend to pick up on – and she’s usually the person they’ll go to for advice on how things look and how to make their vision work.  She’s definitely in the right industry doing what she absolutely loves to do!
