From the moment that I met Jacy and Carlos, I knew they were going to be fabulous.  I mean… they loved and appreciated photography, they were super sweet, and we just had such a wonderful connection.  When I shot their Santa Monica Pier Engagement Session a few months ago I just knew that their wedding was going to be a blast.  I knew at the engagement session that Jacy followed my blog… and was eager to get amazing images.  Of course, getting amazing images for these two is really not a difficult task – they’re such a beautiful couple, they’re happy, and they’re in love … I mean how much easier could it get for me?!?! LOL! So I had been looking forward to their wedding for some time :-)

I knew their wedding would be beautiful… they got married at the gorgeous  Kerckhoff Grand Salon in UCLA and  had their reception at the gorgeous Coffee House Patio.  I am thrilled to say, that their wedding was actually FABULOUS to the tenth degree!!!!!!!! Seriously.  F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S.  What made it so fabulous?  They did.  Jacy and Carlos.  I mean the venue was amazing, their decorations were beautiful, their carefully planned details were gorgeous … but what truly made this wedding fabulous was them and their fabulous personalities that just radiate happiness and love.  They knew they wanted amazing images and they truly trusted me.

Jacy and Carlos – you guys absolutely rock! you guys are simply fabulous. I am so honored to have been your wedding photographer and I’m honored just to have met you both!!!!! Thank you for sharing your special day with me and allowing me to capture it for you… and most of all, thank you for trusting me as much as you did!!!!!

Ok… So those handfull of people that follow my blog know that I’m alwasy posting tooo many images…. haha! I just have a hard time narrowing it down to my favorite images.  So I’m just going to warn you all that this is about to become one LONG post of images… I just couldn’t even decide! I so sowy… :-)

One of my favorite parts of this already fabulous event was their first dance… they started out with this fabulous and romantic dance….

Then they broke out their ‘moves’ and had a TON OF FUN dancing to a medley of funky songs!!! It was so amazing and so much fun. I had to keep reminding myself that I was there to shoot and document the dance… I was just on the ground laughing my butt off!!!! LOL!!! Seriously, I had such a hard time keeping my camera in focus while laughing!!! haha!!! LOVE IT!!!!

I love birthdays… the fun… the balloons… the food… the CAKE!!!!  We have always (and will always) celebrated my son’s bday (even though  I don’t really celebrate my own birthday… haha!).  To us, his life is just worth treasuring moment by moment, year by year.   When my son turned 1, we threw him a rather large bday party – with balloons, candy, decorations, tables, a taco guy, 80 invited guests, and a HUGE and FABULOUS cake.  (boy that was stressfull and just a LOT of work!!!! haha!)  When he turned 2 we did a smaller bday party for him – hamburgers and hotdogs, just immediate family, no decorations, no taco guy, but STILL a Fabulous Cake.  (if you ask me, that was still a lot of clean up to do! lol!)  This month my little man turned 3 years old… and we went even smaller - my mom and sisters, pizza, but STILL a Fabulous Cake. (this was my favorite one so far, no clean up except to throw the pizza box away!! haha!!).

Can you see the common denominator year by year … CAKE.  As I have stated in my quirks page -  I absolutely love sweet carbs, and cake is on the TOP of my list of weaknesses… lol!  And even though I will pretty much eat ANY sweet carb that you put in front of me (yes. any. sweet. carb.) – I am super picky about cakes.  I actually did a ton of research for my son’s previous bday cakes – His first bday cake was a 3 tiered designed cake with the theme being stripes and cupcakes.  It was gorgeous!!! (like a wedding cake!!).  This 2nd bday cake was a topsy turvy cake – with 2 layers carved out to look like a road with cars driving on it and fields of mountains and trees decorated the cake – ultra fabulous!  This year I went much simpler – this year we had a Coldstone Creamery Strawberry Red Velvet Ice Cream Cake…. hmmmm.  you know you want some :-) .  It was soooooooooooooo good.  Next year we’ll probably do another sculpted cake, but we’ll definitely do a smaller ice cream cake again, just because we loved it.

So for his birthday, my son had his 3 favorite things: ice cream, cake, and pizza – he was in little boy heaven!

He wasn’t sure why everyone kept singing ‘happy birthday’ to him… he’s not old enough yet to realize what that means.  At first he would tell us to not sing, but by the end of the day he was singing along and even prompting us to keep singing to him while he did  his baby dance! I love my little guy.

It was a day filled with Ice Cream Cake and Little Kisses!!! LOVE you Jovanni!!!

I love June weddings! the weather is beautiful… there is a slight summer breeze… and love is always in the air!!!  LOL!!! Todd and Raquel celebrated their wedding day on an absolutely perfect day in June.  The absolute perfect June wedding!!!   Todd and Raquel celebrated their special day at the Wedgewood Banquet hall at Indian Hills Golf Course in Riverside (boy, that was a mouth-full… haha!).

The sun was shining, the breeze was going… and Raquel was one of the most relaxed and laid-back brides I have EVER encountered in 5 years!!! LOL!!! I love you Raquel – so calm, so laid back, so care-free.  She truly decided to not stress out at all that day…. whatever she needed to stress about was already planned out – and nothing was going to ruin her magical day. I LOVE that about her!  I’m not kidding… weddings can be very stressful… and although I do meet brides that don’t stress too much – those are few and far between. It is sooooo much more common for a bride to suddenly break a sweat because of her flowers, or her hair, or the bridal party (or her family… lol!) – that’s common to me… I know how to handle that.  I’ve been told that I need to open up a wedding counceling hot line! LOL!! I’ve been called the ‘Bride Whisperer’ … Not kidding!!!  – but that’s an entirely new post all together (yes… I’m working on a post about stress-free weddings).  Anywho.  Raquel was so laid back that I felt a little strange not having to reassure her about anything at all that day.

I can see how Todd and Raquel make such an absolutely perfect couple. Todd is such a sweet and shy person… and Raquel is so energetic – love them together soooooo much!!!!  They totally balance each other out so perfectly.

Raquel and Todd- you guys are so perfect … I loved sharing and capturing these moments for you!!! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your totally peaceful and magical day!

Alright… so I realize that I need to catch up (isn’t that my story like EVERY week… lol!).  I’m working on so many projects at once (weddings, engagements, and even a hush-hush project that is under-way) – that I keep getting backed up.

So what have I been up to… I mean, besides weddings… lol! ??!  Well… a little over a week ago was my son’s 3rd bday!!! yay!!! Those of you that know my little story about my family know how much I truly treasure birthdays.  Life is so fragile and so unpredictable, that I have learned to just treasure every moment… so when my little man turned 3 last week I did what I hardly do: I took several DAYS off!    yes… let’s all ghasp together!!!!  I NEVER EVER EVER take days off (even when I’m not on the computer I’m doing something studio-related) – but I spent those days with my little guy… just enjoying his life.  I love his life!  ;-)

I’m going to post more pictures today of several engagements and wedding(s), but I also wanna share my little guy… here’s a sneak peak of the pics i took on his BDAY!!

I was so excited when I met Stephanie for the first time… from that very first moment I knew she was all about style, all about glamour, and all about fabulousness – my type of gal!!! LOL!!  Her wedding will seriously be AH-MAZING!!!  No joke!!!  I didn’t get a chance to meet Louis during our first consult, but how could he NOT have style with such a fab girl by his side… lol!

Stephanie was envisioning an old-hollywood glamour feel for her engagement session – but filled with that ultra-hip modern feel.  So she chose to go to the Griffith Park Observatory and then to the Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles… just to get 2 different looks for the day.  I loved how she decided to go all dressed up for the session… ultra-fab!!!!

Everyone knows I love getting to know my clients… I love getting to know what makes them laugh, what makes them blush, and what makes them love.  Every engagement session is totally different for me… some are sweet, others are sleek, others are romantic – it all depends on the fabulous couple and their personalities.  Stephanie and Louis are such an ultra modern couple… and ultra sleek. Stephanie thought Louis would be a little shy in front of the camera, but Louis was such a pro – he embodied GQ style! lol!!  Both of them rocked it!!!

Thank you guys for sharing those moments with me… I know we’re going to have a blast on your wedding day next year in Camarillo!!! I can’t wait!!!

Seriously everyone … can everyone just take a quick second to recognize this being my 3rd post in 2 days!!! seriously. wow.  Haha!

In all honesty – I’ve been so swamped with processing images and designing albums for so many weeks now that I took the day off today to catch up on my blogging and facebook-ing… just to change it up a bit! LOL!  Oh… if you haven’t checked out my facebook page - check it out… I usually post things there before I blog them (just cuz it’s easier and faster to post images there – blogging takes me a LONG time to get the darn post ready! lol!).  So if you want to see the latest and greatest – that’s the place to go!

Here’s the link to my official Studio Eternity Facebook Page - I won’t ask you to fan me, since apparently that was too much pressure or whatever the facebook people said… lol! – but feel free to ‘Like’ me… :-)   (pretty, pretty please… like me… please like me – LOL :-) )

I remember my first day in Advanced Art Class in high school … the first thing the teacher wanted us to do is to stand up, introduce ourselves, and let everyone know where we were ‘displayed or showcased at’.  Yeah…. where our art was hanging!!! I sat there suddenly sweating up a storm… I was so confused, embarrassed, and stressed out all at once.  I didn’t know that ‘being displayed’ was a requirement!!! otherwise why would I have signed up!?!?!  I was so upset at that moment with my councelor… who insisted I would truly love that class.  So while these fabulous kids stood up and said what art galleries their works were being shown at … I sat there about to cry! I mean… insecurities and shyness have always been huge road blocks for me… but this was beyond just being shy! lol!  So here was my turn… “my name is Aurora, I love art, I love to draw, and my pieces can be seen at (insert my mom’s address here) hanging on most of her walls”!!!! That’s all I could think of!! lol!!!  I mean, they should consider themselves lucky that I didn’t say they were proudly being displayed on her fridge! HAHAHA!

Anyways… everyone got a big laugh… and moved on, but the rest of that semester I somehow felt not so great.  Everyone talked about being in this gallery or that gallery.  I couldn’t even figure out how the heck someone got into one of those local galleries.

So now 13 years later … I want to stand up and say: ”Hi, my name is Aurora, I’m a photographer, and I’m published!!!”  LOL!!! Then in my little fantasy all of you stand up and cheer for me, even though it’s really not that biggie! haha!!

I feel so blessed and honored to be a part of the latest issue of the latest issues of Bodas USA Magazine!!!

Thank you for publishing my article as well as some of my images!!! YAY!!!!  The article starts on page 31, and my images are on page 35  :-) >  Warning… the magazine is in Spanish, but trust me, the article isn’t half bad! lol!

I love my couples… I know I always say that.  But this couple is particularly close to my heart.  I don’t even know why, but I feel like I’m one of Evy’s friends! lol!  When I first met Evy and Andrew I knew they were fun and in love.  When I did their engagement session  I knew they were stylish and fabulous! Then I did Evy’s super sweet Boudoir Session (no… I will not be posting those pics – but trust me, they were ultra fab! lol!).  During that session I got to meet some of Evy’s sisters and friends too – so by the time the wedding rolled around last month I felt like I was part of the family! haha!  Yeah… I’m like their long lost 3rd cousin… lol!

Anyways… Evy and Andrew had their amazing wedding ceremony at the Calvary Chapel in Chino Hills an their ultra fab wedding reception at the absolutely gorgeous Kellogg House in Pomona. Evy put so much care and effort into planning every little aspect of her wedding – check out her absolutely fab details… ohhhhh I was drooling over her her flowers!!! Yes… I know- I totally over did it with the detail pictures, I just couldn’t help myself… haha!  I had to literally pull myself away to stop taking pics of all of the fabulous little touches.

It was such an absolutely beautiful day, and an amazing wedding… and I feel so honored to have been able to capture such amazing moments for Evy and Andrew.  Thank you guys- you guys absolutely rock!!!!

So every weekend I shoot my fabulous clients… we laugh, we have fun, and we create beautiful images together – and I LOVE it.   I shoot for them… to create capture beautiful memories for them.  I know that my images will forever be a part of their lives – and that is an incredible and amazing thing!  But you know… I love love love to shoot just for me every once in a while too :-) .  To shoot just for the creativity… just to see where an image might take me… to see things from a different perspective.  It’s great to shoot without having to think… lol!

Last month I was honored to be a part of a fantabulous Alice in Wonderland inspired photoshoot that my great friend Elizabeth Luna organized  (yes…fantabulous is what the cool kids are saying these days… lol!). I met some amazing photographers, beautiful models, and best of all I had a fabulous time – what more could one ask for!!  Thank you everyone for making the day so fantastic, so fabulous, and so much fun!!!
